Short Introduction

Engr. Rezaul Karim is a dedicated academician, pioneer researcher, and experienced administrator in the field of Textile Engineering in Bangladesh. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Textile Engineering at City University. Throughout his career, Engr. Karim has held significant academic and administrative leadership positions across several prestigious private universities in Bangladesh. Prior to his current role, he served as an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Textile Engineering at both Sonargaon University and the University of Scholars. During his tenure at the University of Scholars, he also served as the University Proctor. His academic career began at the European University of Bangladesh, where he worked as a Lecturer and later served as the Deputy Director of Admission and Academic Affairs. In addition to Engr. Karim began his professional journey in 1999, gaining six years of core industrial experience in the textile spinning sector through 2005.Transitioning into academia in 2006. Engr. Karim is widely recognized as a pioneer researcher in Bangladesh for his groundbreaking work in Jute-Banana Blended Yarn. Leading a research group collaborated with the Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) and Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC), his primary research focuses on the production, characterization, design, synthesis, and application of banana and jute-banana blended yarn. His research interests also encompass novel yarns, textile composites, and textile fibers. Furthermore, he contributes to academic publishing as an Editorial Board Member for Universe PG and the Australian Journal of Engineering and Innovative Technology (AJEIT). Through his teaching, research, and institutional leadership, Engr. Karim continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of higher education and the textile sector in Bangladesh.
